Matar-Paneer

Before I have posted Matar-Paneer with Peanut gravy. Today I have prepared the Matar-Paneer in different way. And it tastes awesome.

Ingredients

Green peas (shelled) - 1 Cup
Paneer (Cubed) - 50 Gms
Onion (Sliced) - 1
Garlic - 4-5 pods
Ginger- 1 '' piece chopped
Green Chilli - 1-2
Tomato - 2 Medium
Cashew-nuts - 3 tbsp  
Black Pepper - 4-5(Whole)
Green Cardamom - 2
Cloves - 2
Turmeric Powder- 1/4 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Honey - 1 tsp
Oil - 4- tbsp
Fresh Cream - 3 tbsp
Salt - as per taste
 

Procedure

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a kadai and fry the cubed panner from both the sides, once done drain and keep aside.
  2. In the same kadai heat one more tbsp oil. Add sliced onions, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, cashewnuts, cloves, black pepper, and green chilli,  let it cook for some time.
  3. Remove from the kadai, keep it aside and let it cool.
  4. Cook the peas in a presure cooker with 1 cup of water till it releases 1 whistle.
  5. Bring to a paste once cooled.
  6. In the same kadai put 2 tbsp of oil and put the paste.
  7. Cook till the raw smell goes away.
  8. Now add the salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt.
  9. Mix it properly.
  10. Now add the cooked peas, honey & adjust the water and cook for 5-8 minutes in a lower flame.
  11. Add the paneer and cook for more 2-3 minutes at a lower flame.
  12. Just before removing from heat add fresh cream to it and stir gently.
  13. Serve hot with Phulkas, Roti, Nan, Kulcha, etc... :)
